When Forced To Choose Between Two Evils?

Guy Herbert: "Power tends to corrupt," but unfortunately not always

"GIve me the foul air of corruption, if that is the only way I may be permitted to breath at all."

He links to an earlier post. "The power wedge" with some reasoning as follows:

". . . ways will be found to use the leverage of one power to enhance another. New police powers do not merely add to the force of those that already exist, they multiply and magnify them."

It does fit my theme that the more power someone has the more they want and the easier it is to get it.
