Campaign finance measure advances

I can merely ask for gifts to me. Then I can choose to transfer some of it to a campaign. My campaign would report me as the supporter. Funny huh. The tax man would have to keep my records of gifters secret. What great fun this move to make everything an open book. I would demand that money pass-through entities like national and state level political parties not be able to launder the identity of the link between the donor and the political recipient - - - why should they be held to a lesser standard than I?

Suppose I run for the City Auditor position for Portland and get clean money, would I be prevented from accepting donations to me personally just because I also was running for elected office?
